@theMall

The upper left is Rose Johnstone, which was not at the library. She's a hard person to draw, and I think it came out looking more like me than it did her. But maybe that's normal, since I heard once that artists tend to draw/put themselves into their own works. A bit narcissus if you ask me, but I can't help what I can't help. The rest of the image was in Valley Faire Mall. Typically the still life's there are the plants on the table, the fixtures throughout the place, and the men that idly sits and wait for permission to move about. Pen and Ink.

Figure Drawing

Sadly it has been awhile since I've figure drawn, but finally I got a chance and it was quite fun. Even though I forgot a lot it was cool trying to retrain myself for the figure. Hopefully a next time will be soon!

Tarot: The Moon

A white elephant gift exchange where the theme was, you guessed it, tarot cards. I think it's a little too literal with the symbolism, but I wanted it to communicate the meaning of the card. Next time I will try to be more creative with it. Sometimes conventions get the better of me, and I find myself afraid to branch out.

StarChase

This was the final project to my first storyboard class 118, taught by the glorious Dave Yee. This was the class that first introduced me to storyboard and has since fired me up about it. But it's a little strange that lately I'm feeling as if I can't board at all. There's something scary about it that I need to get over.
I've had this obsession with a story about a star and its properties, and for this take, the story takes a different turn that I would normally like to project. But nonetheless I'm happy with it.
I do hope to figure out a story I want with these elements, so maybe just maybe, one day in the future.

Random or precise steps we take to get to a place where we hope to be. Studies done in pen and ink and graphite.

you suck

This was during class, I know, not a very good post on showcasing my attention span in class, but it felt like a good opportunity to paint. Funny how all the red on the screen and the you suck was for me, for a painting on screen as I'm doing a painting in class. Perhaps that is a little telling of what I need to be doing instead.
