MKT

Who is MKT? A person that I'm honored to have met.

Oh No, What Horrible Day!

This is a layout done by mister Frederic Stewart and Emily Tetri, for their class at Nick. I had the honors of painting one. My story was about a glorious day. A pretty one, needless to say. And you know how we all love to worry and worry our days away. But I would say, stop because the real matters that we should worry about is if someone blindsides us on a idle day, or you walk to your local stream and find a dead body. So let's be happy!

Pandy & Octo

When given the chance during our Intern Project, codename, Canvasing for Smiles, in which we had Nickelodeon artist and staff paint canvases to give to children at Los Angeles local children's hospital, I came up with these two paintings of my own. Acrylic on Canvas.

Funny what makes the difference.

cornered

Sometimes you just find a good book. And you are just absolutely enraptured into that book that your world no longer exists but that of the one manifested from words. An escape to problems and excitement of a dilemma scripted out for you to lead. Is all of life simply fate? There's the end, but because we don't know how we get there, that we become oblivious. So you question, why is this book so dang good?

An Older Self

An old man sitting alone in a coffee shop. Sandwich and drink in hand with music to the ears.

I question what he's contemplating. Are they simple thoughts of life, things to do, or nothing.

Or are they they complicated thoughts of life, things to do, or nothing?

What's the difference?

SheLovesMeSheLovesMeNot

A chance to grow old together. To brave sunny days and stormy weather. Heavy as stones to light as feathers. Against all odds to state forever. A blue creature in a land of never.

A RedEye

A redeye, a redeye, with some of the best people of my life. Mister Paul, Brian, Marvyn, and the always beautiful Emily. For the majority it was our first time in New York. The top slightly outlines the paths we chose. The images are actually from pre-boarding to passing out on the plane. Magical Concrete Jungle.

meRhino

I have no idea what this means, but who doesn't love a rhino?

Freshman

These are to be people who are living the freshmen life. Walking around campus to capture the essence in the drawings seems to have not proven very exciting. I must push more the story for the next attempt. Or perhaps spice up my own life!

Nicklelodeon: Rhino Man X-Dressing

There still needs to be a lot of elements that needs to be addressed. Along with proportions, straights versus curves, shapes, and clarity. This was a fun project, and I learned so much, I hope I am able to carry over to other facets of my artwork the lessons learned here. Here is a Rhino in woman's clothing. I imagine him to be an undercover officer of the law, and is attempting to arrest the GodFatherTriRhinocertops.

A Cup of Joe

Joe here is the guy who is also the friend while the other is a Cup of Joe which is what I like to drink. Please do not mix the two. Fighting sleepiness and restlessness with caffeine.

@theMall

The upper left is Rose Johnstone, which was not at the library. She's a hard person to draw, and I think it came out looking more like me than it did her. But maybe that's normal, since I heard once that artists tend to draw/put themselves into their own works. A bit narcissus if you ask me, but I can't help what I can't help. The rest of the image was in Valley Faire Mall. Typically the still life's there are the plants on the table, the fixtures throughout the place, and the men that idly sits and wait for permission to move about. Pen and Ink.

Figure Drawing

Sadly it has been awhile since I've figure drawn, but finally I got a chance and it was quite fun. Even though I forgot a lot it was cool trying to retrain myself for the figure. Hopefully a next time will be soon!

Tarot: The Moon

A white elephant gift exchange where the theme was, you guessed it, tarot cards. I think it's a little too literal with the symbolism, but I wanted it to communicate the meaning of the card. Next time I will try to be more creative with it. Sometimes conventions get the better of me, and I find myself afraid to branch out.

StarChase

This was the final project to my first storyboard class 118, taught by the glorious Dave Yee. This was the class that first introduced me to storyboard and has since fired me up about it. But it's a little strange that lately I'm feeling as if I can't board at all. There's something scary about it that I need to get over.
I've had this obsession with a story about a star and its properties, and for this take, the story takes a different turn that I would normally like to project. But nonetheless I'm happy with it.
I do hope to figure out a story I want with these elements, so maybe just maybe, one day in the future.

you suck

This was during class, I know, not a very good post on showcasing my attention span in class, but it felt like a good opportunity to paint. Funny how all the red on the screen and the you suck was for me, for a painting on screen as I'm doing a painting in class. Perhaps that is a little telling of what I need to be doing instead.
